We had a small snow storm yesterday and it put Ellen right in the mood for reading. When she saw that I had a reading blanket almost finished for
Andrea and Stephan's store, that was it! She promptly decided that she wasn't going out and about with us today, but staying home reading instead. It was sunny and not too cold in the afternoon, but no sir, Ellen made it clear she wasn't going anywhere! So, John and I went on to Cape Spear without her.
I brought extra clothing because it's usually really windy and cold at Cape Spear, but today it was lovely. I even ended up taking off my hat! Ellen really should have come along. We even got a couple of Doggie Paparazzi pictures!
Back to the reading blanket.... I call it a Sunny Reading Blanket because the yellow is a happy colour. It is machine knit in pieces using Loops & Threads Impeccable (100% acrylic). It's finished measurement is 63"x72" and it took 3,056 yds of yarn. All the pieces are crocheted together and the perimeter is crocheted as well (6 times around). Even though it is machine knit, it has a total of 1,600 rows on the machine. My knitting machine is not electric so it was kinda like a work out!
Look at Ellen sitting pretty all wrapped up by the fire! Who says big girls can't play with dolls? :-)
