Out Like a Lion, Ellen!

In Newfoundland we always wonder how March will come in and go out - like a lamb (beautiful day) or a lion (stormy day). This year March came in like a lamb, but went out like a roaring lion. We had quite the snow storm yesterday - 30cm! When John asked if I'd like to go out driving around in the storm, I jumped at the chance. We went to Middle Cove Beach and Mt. Scio Road. When we arrived at Middle Cove Beach I was glad we'd left Ellen at home. The wind out there took my breath away. So I grabbed a few shots of the storm and left. Even though Ellen was a bit miffed about staying home, she would not have appreciated the wind and swirling snow at Middle Cove!

Today, however, it's a different story - absolutely beautiful day with the sound of melting snow (yes, you can hear it!) all around.

I went to feed the ducks and geese at Power's Pond while Ellen watched the hockey game on TV with John. She is "sporting" a sweater I knit for John this week. It's machine knit from Red Heart Soft (100% acrylic), yarn that I bought on sale at Michael's a while ago. John likes plain sweaters so when he asks for a new sweater it doesn't take very long to deliver. I'm not a big acrylic fan, but this yarn is real easy to machine knit. Then, when John tried it on, it fit him and he liked it, well, what more can you ask for? Of course Ellen is crazy for the boyfriend sweaters, so she had to model it and watch a hockey game.

Our BBQ on the patio last night. It always amazes me how the snow just piles
up on the top of it and stays there.

Melting has begun!
